What Are Business Days?
Business days (also called working days) are Monday through Friday, excluding weekends. Most contracts, payment terms, shipping estimates, and legal deadlines are measured in business days, not calendar days.
Two Modes
Mode 1: Count Business Days Between Two Dates
Enter a start date and end date to find the number of working days between them. Saturdays and Sundays are automatically excluded.
Mode 2: Add Business Days to a Date
Enter a start date and a number of business days to find the future date. For example: what date is 10 business days from today?
Practical Examples
- Net-30 payment terms: Add 30 business days to the invoice date.
- Shipping estimates: "3–5 business days" delivery from order date.

Note on Public Holidays
This calculator excludes weekends only. Public holidays vary by country, region, and employer. For critical legal or contractual deadlines, verify your jurisdiction's holiday calendar separately.
ISO Work Week Standard
Most countries follow ISO 8601, where the work week runs Monday–Friday. In some Middle Eastern countries, the work week may differ (e.g., Sunday–Thursday). Adjust your calculation accordingly.
